With ergonomically designed handles to reduce hand fatigue, handheld hip instruments work well in both the supine and lateral decubitus position. Each instrument has a 220 mm shaft to facilitate joint access in larger patients or while using long cannulas. To reach the furthest recesses of the hip joint, the punches are available in a variety of angled tips and shafts, and the graspers are designed for loose body retrieval and tissue elevation. Achieve suture passage using the BirdBeak® and Penetrator® suture passers, each available in multiple angled tip and shaft options. Suture grasping and cutting instruments are included to facilitate suture management during labral repair and reconstruction as well as capsular application.

Hip Length Hand Instruments

The Suture Cutter’sprecision jaws prevent knot cutting by leaving a length of reproducible suturetail, 3 mm for the 4.2 mm outer diameter cutter and 1 mm for the 2.75 mm outerdiameter cutters, without direct visual control. The blunt tip of thecutter is excellent for knot pushing. The open endedSuture Cutter was designed for quick and efficient suture tail cutting underdirect visual control through the same or alternate cannula or portal. Thenotch on the side of the cutter tip automatically guides the suture tails intothe front cutting slot for an accurate cut from any angle.

The Hip Arthroscopy Instrument System is a comprehensive instrument set designed with the surgeon in mind. Based on handle preference, specific sets were designed to accommodate WishBone™ or finger-loop instruments. The system contains a full complement of ergonomic, hip-specific instrumentation, including but not limited to FiberTak®, SutureTak®, and PushLock® drill guides and obturators; Hip Labral Scorpion™ and CapsuleClose Scorpion™ suture passers; open cannulas; and TRIM-IT™ cannula instrumentation.

The Hip Arthroscopy Hand Instruments were designed with the discriminating surgeon in mind. They offer the same high standard of quality and tactile feel as all of the Arthrex Series I Instruments. Our manufacturing facility has over 20 years of arthroscopic hand instrument design, development and manufacturing experience. The Hip Arthroscopy Hand Instruments have a 220 mm working length. The punches are offered in a variety of angled tips and shafts to reach the furthest recesses of the hip joint. The graspers were designed for large loose body retrieval commonly encountered in hip arthroscopy. The NR Series Graspers have nonlocking handles for ease of use from difficult hand positions encountered during surgery. The SR Series Graspers feature a self-releasing lock mechanism that is easily disengaged as needed by simply moving the handles apart.
